How to Download Spotify Album with Premium or Free Account

Spotify Premium lets you download songs, playlists, albums and podcasts onto your computer or mobile device. This means that even if you’re not connected to the internet, you can still listen to Spotify songs that you’ve downloaded.

Download Spotify albums in the desktop app

To download albums with Spotify desktop version, you need to add the album or all songs you want to download to a playlist, then download the playlist. You can’t download albums using the desktop version of the Spotify app before adding it to a playlist.

1. Open Spotify on your Mac and PC and find the album you want to download. You will find there is no Download toggle as you can see in a playlist page. Click the ... icon and choose Add to Playlist - New Playlist.

2. Find the playlist in the side bar. It is named with Artsit name - Album name.

You can find the Download icon. Toggle it to download the album.

Download Spotify albums in the Mobile/tablet app

1. Open the Spotify app on your mobile/tablet and find the album you want to download.

2. Tap the “Download” switch, located below the green “Play” button, so it toggles to the right and turns green.

When you're not connected to the internet, you can still listen to what you've downloaded on that device. You can download up to 10,000 songs on each of up to 5 different devices. When you unsubscribe to Spotify premium, the albums you have downloaded will also disappear. The downloaded songs can only be played with Spotify and can't be read with other music player.
